Ivano-Frankivsk regional television "Galychyna", founded by the regional council of the first democratic convocation on November 7, 1990, is almost the first attempt and example of public television broadcasting in Ukraine. Having started broadcasting on November 30, 1991 and having gone through a difficult path from a borrowed camera, employees' own television sets, tape recorders and microphones brought to the newly created studio, the TV channel has turned into a significant means of mass information, well known in Ukraine.
For thirty years, the TV channel has become a real platform for the competition of opinions and arguments, reflecting not only the complex spectrum of social and political life, but also, what is important, helping local people to understand and navigate the course of political events, to develop their own point of view and civic position. Regional television "Galychyna" broadcasts the main socially significant events, cultural, artistic, spiritual events, various entertainment programs live. These include sessions of the regional council, various events, social and political events, religious ceremonies, artistic events and musical performances in the region's settlements.
